For over 6 years, Yvonne Washington has been captivating audiences in Houston with her rich dynamic vocals and has combined talents with her band, "The Mix" to offer an evening of entertainment to please any palate.

Yvonne Washington began her career with an emphasis on Jazz in Austin, TX. Highly versatile, Yvonne can belt out Aretha Franklin, sing the blues like Billy Holliday, or if you desire more contemporary music - Eryka Badu - all delivered in Yvonne's unique style. Yvonne has been back-up singer for many prominent artists, and was featured on albums by Bubba Thomas, Paul House, and Ben Wells. While in New Orleans on recent trip, she was asked to do background vocals for an upcoming c.d. by Benny Turner, the bandleader for Marva Wright, the official "Queen of Rhythm & Blues" of New Orleans; as well as entertaining the crowd at Commander's Palace Sunday Jazz Brunch.

One of her many stellar accomplishments was closing the show for Stevie Wonder on his European tour in 1970. In 1995, she was the closing act for The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Kool & the Gang and Little Richard; and has been nicknamed "Ms. Texas "lil" Aretha".
