Selecting Music
for Your Ceremony:
This is an important
decision based on your personal taste and of course your budget. Live
music creates an excitement and elegance that adds touching remembrances
to the wedding ceremony.
Some of the most
popular live music choices for Ceremonies are:
(audio samples are available in the instrumentalist
/ chamber music area)
- Harp, Flute,
& Cello; Harp Solo; or other Harp combinations
- Organ and/or
Piano
- String Quartets,
String Trio, or other String combinations
- Trumpets or Brass
bands
- Guitar, Classical
Guitar & Harp, or other Guitar combinations
- Bagpipes
- Mariachis
* A vocalist can be added to all of the above
Many times the Musicians
that play for your ceremony can also supply music for the social hour
at your reception as well.
Church Ceremony: If your ceremony is going to be in a church
or other religious place, check with them before booking your entertainment.
Some churches have strict rules concerning music that restrict what
songs can be played and where in the ceremony they can be played. Some
even require you to use the church’s or synagogue's musicians.
Outdoor Ceremony or Reception: If you are planning an outdoor
ceremony or reception, make sure that there will be adequate electrical
power and a covered area in case of rain. It is a good idea to check
with your entertainment agent before booking your music, since some
musical groups will not play outdoors in the summer months.
