Securing Your
Entertainment
Sign a contract
for your entertainment as soon as you have selected your acts. A popular
band or DJ’s calendar will fill up quickly. It is a good idea to secure
your entertainment at least 8 to 12 months in advance to assure a good
selection is available.
It is also a good idea to set up a meeting or telephone conference two
weeks or so before the engagement to go over all the details. Most Chamber
groups such as Harpist will meet with you approximately 3 weeks before
your wedding for you to pick out the song selections.
Be sure to give the entertainer a copy of your wedding agenda and a
list of any announcements, special songs, and any other instructions.
If you are requesting special songs to be played, make sure the artists
have this information well in advance; A band might need to learn one
of your songs and a DJ might need time to look for it on CD
.
